Landscapes

Recently I applied for, and was not accepted, to a show focused on landscapes. I realized last year around this time when I was applying for this same show that I really had not painted any landscapes. I have been drawn to painting individual subjects with flourishes and details that enhance the focus on said subject.
I am still in the phase of my career where I will apply for almost any opportunity. Because of this, I applied last year and this year (to no avail) and painted a landscape each year in the hopes to have a piece accepted.
I am not sad to not have gotten in. I mean, I am a little, but really I do not paint landscapes and didn't expect to get my first real attempts accepted.
Because these pieces are not in any show, I wanted to highlight them here to document my attempts. Someday in the future, when I have painted many more landscapes, I will look back at these pieces and see the way I have grown as an artist.
