Watermelon is the fruit I associate most with summer, picnics, barbecues, and eating outside. Because of that, for this piece I wanted to capture the gentle sweetness of a summer picnic. I love eating out of doors in the sun, and now that the weather is warming up, I can look forward to a lot more quiet afternoons on a blanket on the grass.
